Jahrhundert http://publikationen.stub.uni-frankfurt.de/frontdoor/index/index/docId/2372 Kaiserin Friedrich war die Frau Kaiser Friedrich III., der 1888 für die kurze Dauer von 99 Tagen deutscher Kaiser war. Wegen der kurzen Regierungszeit ihres Mannes wurde bisher angenommen, Victorias Einsatz für gesellschaftliche und soziale Neuerungen sei von geringem Ausmaß gewesen. Dies trifft bei näherer Untersuchung ihrer Aktivitäten nicht zu. Ihr Einsatz bei der Entstehung und Entwicklung unterschiedlicher, teilweise noch heute existierender Institutionen auf den Gebieten der Kunst, Wissenschaft und Bildung war beachtlich. Trotz aller Kritik an ihrer Person gelang es ihr zumindest auf einigen Gebieten, ihre Reformvorschläge durchzusetzen. In dieser Arbeit soll ihr unermüdlicher Einsatz sowohl für die Bildende Kunst und das Kunstgewerbe als auch für die wesentlichen frauenfördernden Institutionen in den Blickpunkt gerückt werden. Dabei sind ihre Biographie und die kultur- und geistesgeschichtliche Einordnung ihrer vielfältigen Aktivitäten in die Zeitgeschichte die Grundlagen. ...
