Literaturwissenschaftliche wie auch sprach- und übersetzungswissenschaftliche Beiträge haben sich mit dem Erzählen beschäftigt, und das Fazit scheint berechtigt, Erzähltexte als Schnittstelle fachlicher Entwicklungen anzusehen. Sie erweisen sich als besonders günstige Anschlussstelle für Fragestellungen, die intradisziplinäre Grenzziehungen überschreiten. Dies soll in der folgenden kleinen Skizze aus linguistischer Sicht genauer entfaltet werden. Para este artigo, são analisadas duas cartas escritas por falantes bilíngues de alemão e português, com base em uma reflexão sobre a difusão da cultura germânica no Brasil, tendo em vista serem essas cartas reveladoras desse processo. Jedoch wird sie auch so von der Gruppe beeinflusst, dass sich verschiedene soziokulturelle Konventionen unbewusst in den sprachlichen Beiträgen von Mitgliedern solcher Gruppen widerspiegeln. Bei Interaktionen zwischen Sprechern verschiedener Kulturen können Unstimmigkeiten der Erwartungen in Bezug auf den Konversationsstil zu Missverständnissen führen, sowie zu Konflikten und sogar zur Bildung bzw. Verstärkung von Stereotypen. Ziel dieses Aufsatzes ist, einige Beispiele und Überlegungen bezüglich der Beziehung zwischen Konversationsstil und Interkulturalität in Anlehnung an den Ausdruck von Dissens zu präsentieren.
